Mystery Message exists to make anonymous messaging respectful and fun. Do not send vulgar, sexually explicit, abusive, harassing, or otherwise harmful messages.

Incoming messages are screened by server-side moderation before they are stored. Messages that violate our guidelines are rejected and are not delivered to the recipient. We do not show senders which word or emoji was flagged.

We collect your email address to provide our services.

3. Data Security and Moderation

We take measures to protect your email, but no method is 100% secure.

For safety, we may record that a sending attempt was rejected by moderation (for example, a count of violations). We do not use this to publish the content of rejected messages.

4. Technical Sender Information and Sender Hints

Anonymous messages may still be processed with technical information that is necessary for security, abuse prevention, and service reliability. This can include server-side IP and network information derived from the request, approximate location inferred from that network information, and limited device details from the browser or app user agent.

We do not treat this information as proof of someone's identity or exact physical address. Approximate location is an estimate from IP geolocation and may be limited to a city, region, or country.

Eligible PRO MAX recipients may see Sender Hints based on this stored estimate (for example, an approximate area, ISP, or device type). Sender Hints are estimates only. They do not guarantee who sent a message and do not reveal a raw IP address, email address, password, or private account credentials.

We may retain security-related technical records as needed for abuse prevention, safety investigations, and lawful requests. Older messages created before this processing existed will not have invented location history attached to them.
